It is with great sorrow that we learned this week of the murder of Evandro Joćo Silva, AfroReggae's coordinator of social projects. Evandro worked closely with People's Palace Projects on the Changing the Scene programme, setting up workshops with young people at AfroReggae's cultural centre in the community of Parada de Lucas. He was an inspirational cultural warrior with an open heart and a golden smile. Saudades, Evandro!
We are delighted to announce that Rosie Hunter will be joining People's Palace Projects as Executive Director from 23rd November 2009. Rosie has been Executive Director of Battersea Arts Centre since 2005, and has previously worked at the Actors' Centre, the PYRAMID Arts Centre (Warrington) and Northern Stages (Newcastle).
